Baltistan (Urdu: بلتستان, Balti: སྦལ་ཏི་སྟཱན), also known as Baltiyul or Little Tibet (Balti: སྦལ་ཏི་ཡུལ་།), is a mountainous region in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan-administered Kashmir. It is located near the Karakoram mountains just south of K2 (the world's second-highest mountain), and borders Gilgit to the west, China's Xinjiang to the north, Ladakh to the southeast, and the Kashmir Valley to the southwest.[1][2] Its average altitude is over 3,350 metres (10,990 ft).

Originating in 1936 the Shandur Polo Festival is one of the wildest polo festivals played in the world. The elevation of this great polo ground is about 3,743 m above the sea level and attracts thousands of tourists from Pakistan and around the world

The range has numerous high snow-capped peaks, with the highest point being Tirich Mir or Terichmir at 7,708 metres (25,289 ft) in the Chitral District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. To the north, near its northeastern end, the Hindu Kush buttresses the Pamir Mountains near the point where the borders of China, Pakistan and Afghanistan meet, after which it runs southwest through Pakistan and into Afghanistan near their border.

Thalle La Trek Pakistan is through a mountain pass (4,572m) between Shigar and Khaplu valley in Pakistan. It is an easy Trek of 11-13 days leading over the Thalle Pass (4,572 M). This Trek is meaningful plan on 2-week time scale and for a diversity of reason it undertakes to be very exciting indeed. Crossing of Thalle La can be possible from Shigar and Khaplu valleys.
